About Me


Hi! My name is Steven English. I am a photographer and real estate broker based out of Charlotte, NC.


I began working in Photography in 2005 at Retail Portrait Studios before beginning my formal education in 2007. By 2015, I became a Regional Manager of a National Portrait Company, where I oversaw operations in studios across the North-East and Mid-West United States. Over the course of my career, I have photographed thousands of clients and mentored hundreds of photographers and studios managers.

In 2018, I relocated to Charlotte, NC and began working in Real Estate as a Property Manager, while continuing to offer photography services. In 2020, I earned my NC Brokers License and began representing buyers and sellers in real estate transactions.

In late 2021, Open Shutter Co. was born, merging both my photography and real estate expertise.


I currently live in the Shannon Park area of East Charlotte with my partner, Elliott, and our dog, Naomi. We enjoy traveling to different cities across the country, going to music concerts and shows, and spending time with our families and friends!
